21 DAYS of FASTING and PRAYER

21-Day Fast Plan

  • Start Date: Monday, January 8th, 2024

  • End Date: Monday, January 28th, 2024

Daily Schedule for Fast:

  • 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM: Fasting Period

  • 6:00 AM: Begin each day with Prayer and Worship - or (When you get up)

  • 12:00 PM: Midday Prayer and Reflection (Or what fits your schedule) Set the Alarm and stay committed to that time. 

  • 6:00 PM: Light, Nutrient, and Healthy Meal of your choice. 

  • 8:00 PM: Evening Prayer and Reflection - take a few minutes and just talk to God about your day. 

Week 1: January 8th - January 14th

  • Fasting Focus: No Sweets

Scripture: Psalm 34:8 - "Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him."

During the first week, eliminate sweets from your diet. Use this time to surrender your desires for sugary treats and focus on connecting with God through prayer and worship.

Week 2: January 15th - January 21st

  • Fasting Focus: No Sweets and No Tweets (Social Media)

Scripture: Proverbs 3:5-6 - "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."

In the second week, extend your fasting discipline by eliminating both sweets all week and No Tweets (Social Media) during fasting hours. This is a deeper level of surrender, allowing you to connect more intimately with the Holy Spirit and strengthen your reliance on God's will.

Week 3: January 22nd - January 28th

  • Fasting Focus: No Sweets, No Meats, No Tweets (Social Media)

Scripture: James 4:7 - "Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."

The final week deepens the fasting experience by continuing the abstinence from sweets and meats. Additionally, abstain from social media (Tweets) during fasting hours. Focus on yielding to the Holy Spirit, seeking spiritual guidance, and submitting to God's desires for your life.

Throughout the 21 Days:

  1. Water, Sugar-free Coffee, and supplements During Fasting Hours: Stay hydrated by drinking water throughout the fasting period. This not only sustains your physical health but also symbolizes cleansing and renewal.

  2. Peppermints: Allow yourself to consume peppermints if needed. They can serve as a mild, sugar-free way to address any cravings and keep your breath fresh during fasting hours.

  3. Prayer and Worship: Dedicate time for prayer and worship twice a day – in the morning and evening. Use this time to commune with God, seek guidance, and surrender your will to His.

  4. Journaling: Consider keeping a journal to record your thoughts, prayers, and reflections throughout the fast. This can be a valuable tool for tracking spiritual growth and recognizing the work of the Holy Spirit in your life.

  5. Community Support: If possible, engage in the fast with a community, or another family or share your experience with your spiritual mentor. Having support can strengthen your commitment and provide encouragement during challenging moments, to finish strong
